Do I get to see the custom design before our appointment?I do not send out my designs ahead of the appointment. I kindly ask for your trust in the design process and hope you're here because you dig my work! I always allow time before we begin tattooing to make small edits to the design and ensure you're 100% happy!!
-
Can I make changes to my custom design?During your appointment, you can make small changes to your custom design. These changes should take less than 15 minutes to make. However, if you want to make large changes to the design, you will need to reschedule your appointment and forfeit your current deposit. A new deposit will be required to move forward with the rescheduling and the large changes to the design. But why? I have a limited number of appointment slots available each week. The deposits are there as a way to ensure your interest in my art and that our appointment is confirmed. When a client wants to make significant changes to the design, it can impact other clients' ability to book that time slot. Additionally, making significant changes to a design can require more time outside of the studio, which can impact the preparation for our appointment. By forfeiting the deposit and rescheduling, it helps to ensure that my time and resources are being used efficiently to serve all of my clients.
-
How do I reschedule an existing appointment?Reach out through email 48 hours in advance to not void your deposit.
-
How do I cancel?Locate your booking confirmation email and select the "cancel" button to cancel your upcoming appointment. Please reach out if you have any comments or concerns! Your deposit will not be refunded.
-
Deposit RefundDeposits are non-refundable.

I've reached out multiple times to book and have not been accepted yet, why? It's not you, it's me! No, but seriously it's nothing against you. Due to my growing demand and the amount of time I can tattoo/draw in a week, I must be more selective with projects. If you've submitted the same design idea over several booking periods to no avail, it may just not be for me! But I promise you it's not a flawed concept and there's another tattooist out there that would love to poke it for you. :)
-
You haven't responded to me, is our appointment still set?If your idea has been accepted for booking, I've received your deposit and you've been confirmed an appointment timeslot.. you're all set!! If you have emailed specific questions about your appointment that aren't answered in my FAQ, I should get back to you at least a couple days before your scheduled booking. I do my best to keep up but sometimes things get lost in the shuffle. When I'm nearing your appointment, I search for your name in my inbox to check for any missed emails!
-
Are my reference images okay? Do you need more info?If I haven't emailed you saying I need different images or more details, your reference images were perfecto and I have all I need. :)

Do I tip? Why do I tip? How much should I tip?Tips are not required but are appreciated! People will tip tattooers because they enjoyed their experience and love the tattoo they received. Keep in mind that tattooers are independent contractors who pay a rent/percentage each month for their station, pay for their own tattooing/ cleanup supplies, as well as their own health insurance as this is not standard. Tips usually range anywhere from 15-30% of the total cost of your tattoo.
-
Do you prefer cash or card?Cash only at the appointment until further notice! Just know I do not typically carry large bills for change. Credit Card payments are only used for placing a deposit online and result in a 3% charge.
-
Why are your prices what they are?Tattoo artists, generally, are independent contractors with no worker’s rights or compensation. The price helps toward health and dental insurance along with all the operating costs that come with tattooing. This allows me to be at my best so I can give you the best quality experience and tattoo you deserve.

Is the studio accessible for people with different mobility needs?Feral Tattoo Location: We have both ramp and elevator access, but unfortunately no automatic doors. Please let me know if you will need to use these services ahead of your appointment and I’ll come on down when you arrive! My tattooing chair also has an adjustable height, armrests, headrest pieces, and leg pieces. I keep tattoo-safe (synthetic leather) pillows handy as well as places to rest your belongings.
-
Can I bring someone with me?Feral Tattoo: Nope! Only one client in the studio per artist. This of course does not include if you have an outstanding circumstance that requires someone there for medical assistance or a registered service animal (this does not include emotional support animals).
-
After your appointment• Please contact your artist right away if you develop any symptoms of the flu or COVID-19 after your appointment. • Please keep us updated if you decide to get tested for covid-19. We will need to record this to prevent the spread of covid-19 and notify any clients whom we have come in contact with. • Please note that getting a tattoo can lower your immune system. If you are not comfortable receiving a tattoo at this time, please let us know 48 hours before your appointment date. • See Tattoo Aftercare Guide for more info.
-
Do you take walk-ins?No, this is an appointment-only studio.
-
Feral Tattoo Collective COVID-19 Policy• Masks must stay on while in the studio (kn95/n95 required, we have these available in the studio if needed). • Clients must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 • Food and drink are to be consumed in the hallway since masks must remain on in the studio. AT THIS TIME WE ARE NOT ALLOWING ANY ADDITIONAL GUESTS. We are only allowed to have one client in the studio per artist. * We are not medical professionals and cannot give you advice or diagnose you. If you have any symptoms or have been in contact with anyone experiencing these symptoms, we will ask to reschedule your appointment. Please respect this decision. We will promptly reschedule with you once we deem that conditions are safe. We ask that you are honest about your health and symptoms. Multiple artists at feral are immunocompromised and we want to make sure that our studio is a safe place that practices habits that prevent the spread of covid-19. *

Is there a health risk? With any body modification, there is always risk involved. I am bloodborne pathogen certified! My needles are always new and sterilized, only used once, and then disposed of in a sharps container. When you have an open wound there is always a chance of infection. Cleanliness and proper aftercare of your new tattoo are very important!
-
What should I wear to my appointment?Wear something comfortable and easy to move around in! And I always suggest bringing a sweatshirt in case you get chilly. Clothing for specific tattoo placements below! Lower Arm: a shirt that easily rolls up (and stays up) or a short-sleeve Upper Arm: preferably a tank, or a short-sleeve that easily rolls up (and stays up), tube tops Sternum, Stomach, Back*: a button-up is a fantastic option because it can be easily adjusted or worn backward, loose t-shirts, and tank tops. (nipple pasties if you would like extra coverage during sternum) Chest, Upper Back, Neck: a button-up is a fantastic option because it can be easily adjusted or worn backward, low collar t-shirt/tank, tube tops. (nipple pasties if you would like extra coverage during low chest) Butt, Hips: underwear with elasticity that you don't mind getting ink on (swim bottoms work too!), sweatpants that are easily adjusted, loose shorts or skirt Upper Leg: loose shorts or skirt Lower Leg: pants that easily roll up (and stay up), loose shorts or skirt Foot: comfortable shoes with room (I do not recommend wearing converse-esque sneakers, leather/work boots, or sandals)
-
Do you tattoo darker skin/ melanated skin?Absolutely, it's important to me that my work is made for everyone. If you have any questions about your skin and the tattooing process/ healing, please feel free to reach out! *While I do not often use ink colors aside from black and grey, I will occasionally use red, blue, or green at request for custom appointments. Please let me know if you'd like a free color test before your tattoo appointment!*
-
Is this an LGBTQIA+ friendly space?WE LOVE YOU, WELCOME TO GLASS MOON OR FERAL TATTOO AND WELCOME TO MY CHAIR <3
-
Do you tattoo over scar tissue?Yes I do! If there is significant scarring, it’s best we have a consultation first to make sure everything is safe to tattoo and create a game plan :)
-
Do tattoo's hurt?Yes! This will not be the most pleasant sensation, but also not the worst. The most important thing during the tattooing process is to listen to your body, whether than means zooming through the whole design or taking a bunch of breaks. I'm your biggest cheerleader and just excited you're here for the ride!
-
What is the tattooing process like? When you arrive at the studio you will begin by filling out a consent form, and I'll need a valid ID to scan. Once the paperwork is completed, we'll look over the design together and make sure it's just what you want. Next, we begin stenciling. The stencil can be moved around as many times as you like until we find the perfect placement, be picky. NOW THE FUN BEGINS! I'll let you know when I'm ready to begin and wait for your go. Whether you wanna chat through the tattooing process or chill out and pop in the earbuds, I'll try and make the experience as comfortable as possible. When we're all done, it's time to look in the mirror and have a lil photoshoot (if you're comfortable)! Following this, we bandage the new tattoo, talk through aftercare, take care of payment, and you are on your way. Welcome to the cool kids club!
-
Do you tattoo other people's art?I prefer my using my own designs, but if you've received permission to use someone else's work or it's in the public domain I'm happy to consider it.
-
Which Ink(s) do you use?Dynamic Triple Black, Solid Lining Black, And Eternal Ink for greys/reds/blues.
-
Touch-UpsFREE TOUCH-UPS FOR THE FIRST 12 MONTHS AFTER RECEIVING YOUR TATTOO!
-
Can I drink alcohol or take drugs to relax before my appointment?NO. Alcohol and other drugs, including Tylenol may thin your blood and/or cause excessive bleeding. If you show up to your appointment under the influence, we will need to cancel your appointment and the deposit will be forfeited. The risks outweigh the benefits.
-
Are tattoos permanent? How can they be removed? Most doctors warn that complete removal is usually not possible, at least without scars. Read more about your options from the Mayo Clinic
-
Should I get a tattoo?Do what's right for you! Tattoos can be an exciting way to express yourself to the world and those around you. If you don’t have a tattoo and you are already wondering about removal, you should probably wait until you are ready to make a lifetime commitment.
-
How should I prep for my tattoo appointment?Great question! The first step is making sure you’re in a healthy headspace before our appointment. It’s so important to listen to your body! If you’ve been having a hard time emotionally, physically, etc. and the thought of getting tattooed just increases your anxiety, consider reaching out 48 hours in advance to reschedule. If you’re feeling good and ready, come on over and we’ll party! READ THROUGH MY FAQ FOR ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE! 1.) Lotion for a week beforehand, as well as a one-time light exfoliation a few days before your appointment. 2.) Check your emails for any updates from me the evening before and the morning of your appointment. 3.) Eat a healthy meal and stay hydrated before your appointment. (Feel free to bring a small snack and water bottle to your appointment!) 4.) Wear comfortable clothing that can easily show the area being tattooed. 5.) Arrive at your appointment with enough time to find a parking spot. If your questions are not answered in my FAQ, then feel free to reach out to me directly through email :)
-
What ointments and soaps/liquids do you use?Green Soap, Isopropyl Alcohol, Distilled Water, Bactine. For ointment, I use Hustle Butter (vegan) but can use Aquaphor by request.
-
How do you bandage your tattoos?I bandage my work in Derm Shield by Recovery, which is a non-latex, vegan adhesive bandage that stays on for 1-2 days. If you are someone who has very sensitive skin or reacts to adhesives, we can opt for regular gauze bandaging and wrap, which stays on for a maximum of 12 hours. Please see my tattoo "Aftercare guide" for more information.
-
How do I take care of my new tattoo? The Basics: • Leave the Derm Shield bandage on for no more than 1-2 days unless instructed otherwise. Clean hands and then remove in the shower or sink under running water (for a regular bandage, leave it on for 3-12 hours). • Once the bandage is removed, wash the tattooed area gently with mild, fragrance-free soap (think Dove, Dr. Bronner’s or Dial Gold) and warm water. Make sure to remove all excess ointment, blood, and ink. Gently pat dry with a paper towel. DO NOT SCRUB. • Wash your tattoo 1-2 times a day for 4 weeks. • After washing the tattoo and patting dry the skin, apply a thin layer of unscented lotion or tattoo balm. • Your tattoo will peel and/or flake. This is a normal part of the healing process. It will also be itchy while it heals, however, do not pick, itch or scratch the tattooed area while it's healing! • Consult a healthcare professional at the first sign of infection. Important: NO SUN, SWIMMING, SOAKING, SAUNAS for at least 2 weeks. Vegan Aftercare Options: • Soap- Dr. Bronner’s Baby Unscented liquid or bar soap • Ointment: Hustle Butter Deluxe • Unscented Lotion: Everyone Lotion Unscented, Everyone 3in1 Unscented

-
What is a "single-use" flash tattoo design?A "single-use" flash design is a piece that only one individual can purchase and have tattooed!
